The Samoyed has a dense, double layer coat. The long, coarse overcoat is to protect the breed against extreme cold.

This is a very loyal and docile breed.

The Samoyed one of the most gentle natured dogs you will find. They are not very good guard dogs because of their sweet disposition, but make diligent watchdogs because they are very alert.

The Samoyed needs brushed daily.

They need daily exercise and obedience training would be good for them.

They need a moderate amount of activity. This member of the “sled dog” family will have a tendency to dig if it gets bored.
