Rottweiler Breed Review by Patty Mokritski

I absolutely love this breed. We are on our second Rottweiler. Our first lived for 13 and 1/2 years. Once he passed we felt so heartbroken. Now we have a female who is a year and a half old. This breed is very loyal and wants to please. I will always have a Rottie as part of our family.

Rottweiler Breed Review by Marisa

I had a rottie growing up and she was the most protective and caring dog I have ever meet. I recently got a rottie who will be 1 and a half. She is so beautiful, caring, loving dog. She LOVES babies!!!! rotties are so loyal and protective over their owners. She always wants to go every where with me. Loves going out for a walk/run loves car rides and loves being outside. She does this thing that if she is tired and wants to be pet or you to stop petting her it sounds like she is growling but she really is just talking! Rotties are so funny I just love them can't wait to get another one for Roxy to play with :)

Rottweiler Breed Review by Russ

ROTTIES are the only canine I would EVER consider! But I can not recommend one to a person who is not totally open to trusting In my lifetime (68yrs) I have always had a dog in my life. Gordon,Irish Setters, German Shepard's, Samoyed, About 35 years ago a friend asked if I would adopt a 3year old rotties that he had rescued from his father. ( the dog was not allowed in the house, only attention the dog got was when he was "showing him off! I talked it over with my wife and decided to give it a try. I immediately took " Samson" through shutzhund training, and through much learning and work Sam became the best "dog" I ever had the pleasure of living with! He never messed in the house,or destroyed anything! He lived to be 11 1/2 years old. Each rotties since from puppies have taught me new things and have kept me in shape ( helped me through serious back surgeries) and I am sure will continue. Rottweiler's are not for someone looking for just a dog, but have to be willing to train, exercise, provide a loving home in exchange for a loving, compassionate, four pawed family member.

Rottweiler Breed Review by Debbie Ervin

I have owned and loved this Rottweiler breed for 20+ years. If you bring a rottie into your home as a family member or companion you will unconditional love, loyalty...they are wonderful with kids and are nanny dogs if raised right. They are very protective of their kids and family and love to be the center of attention at parties, bbq's...really if someone doesn't like dogs, or are afraid they shouldn't be coming to your home where YOUR rottie lives. They have to be trained from the beginning by you or a class what is expected of them and who is the boss...never hit your rottie....a FIRM voice will let them know they did wrong and even a time out...this breed aims to please you and they want to do good....I recommend this breed to anyone who wants to make them part of the family...

Rottweiler Breed Review by Fred

This breed is fantastic as a family pet. We had two when the children were growing up, and we couldn't have asked for a better pet. They were loyal and protective of the kids, yet very friendly to strangers once they were told it was ok. So we have just replaced them with two new Rotties and can already see the same attitudes and behaviors. The loyalty is already there and they are 14 and 18 weeks old.

Fantastic breed! Have had 2 Rotties and numerous other dogs, but always wanted to replace my Rotties. I have a German Shepherd, Dachshund , and 2 Golden Retrievers and I just replaced my 2 Rotties this week. Rotties are great with families and protective of them in a friendly way.

If you want to own the worlds perfect dog, get a rottie! Our rottie that we owned for 15 years just passed. She was more than we could ever have even imagined! She was raised with our 2 daughters and several foster children and was the most loving and perfect dog. Hunter, we will always love you, and you will forever be in our hearts!

I own my second Rottweiler. I absolutley love rotty's, they are a very loyal breed. They do get a lot a bad publicity because that is all they report. You hardly ever hear about the good that they do.

Rottweiler Breed Review by Vicki

I ABSOLUTELY love my rotties!! I\'ve had quite a few over the years, mostly rescues who have not always come from a good place and none of them would ever hurt a fly. They\'ve only become protective never aggressive when they perceived a threat to me which is exactly what I need in a so called guard dog.

Rottweiler Breed Review by Kelly

These dogs are the best dogs to own. They are very loyal. You must socialize them while they are puppies and have room for them to run. They need a lot of exercise to keep them active. These dogs are big teddy bears and love the owner with his heart!

Rottweiler Breed Review by K. Oconnor

The most gentle, loving dogs I have ever had, but they need early training because of their size. Ours were raised with cats and we never had a problem. Ours were very protective of children, even the neighbors kids. The thick undercoat makes grooming necessary. Both of ours died of pancreatic cancer. I don\'t know if this is a problem specific to the breed. They were wonderful additions to our family.

They are a very easy animal to train. They enjoy there owners love and attention. They do well in a work place environment if started from a puppy. They are good with children if they are brought up with them You can teach a Rotty there whole life . They love to learn and please owners. I have had two of them in the last twenty years. I will get another one when I get over the loss of our last rotty Bell.

i had 2 rottweiler males (brothers); they were very protective over me; they were the perfect guard dogs (never been trained); they instinctively protected the house (1 slept at the front door and the other slept at my bedroom door) they never used the bathroom in the house and they loved to play (remind u of cute little teddy bears) you will fall in love with them instantly as they will you

I owned a female Rottweiler from 8weeks old until her death at 13 years old. She was the best dog I had ever had. She was very protective and was a great watch dog. She was also very friendly towards everyone she met, adult and child. She was also very friendly towards other dogs. She liked cats but would chase them for fun, along with squirrels and chicken. She\'d kill the chickens when she caught them though. I believe Rottweiler to be a great all round dog. They\'re quiet, loyal, loving, protective, up for a good hike or swim too. Can\'t say enough good about the breed!

yes I have owned rottweilers for over 25 years. They are fantastic creatures. They are loyal, loving, fun smart, protective, they are your best friend. I have never been disappointed in any of my rotties. I just last my best friend and I feel last with out him. I have bred these creatures of Love and power. ones that are nasty is usually the owner not the dog. It is also hard to find good rottweilers there are to many people who breed and have no idea in what they are doing; let alone training them. I LOVE them and fall in Love with your site. The breeders I spoke with could answer questions about hips shoulders, attitude, parents, and much more. I am a vet tech. for over 35 years.

The Rottweiler is a very strong and hard-working breed of dog. Dating back to the Roman Empire, this intelligent dog was put to work in all kinds of tasks. As one of the oldest herding breeds, Rottweilers currently fill such roles as guard dog, police dog, and they assist in search and rescue missions. Their best known physical characteristics include a broad head, very strong jaw, short black and brown coat, and circular brown eyebrows. This fearless, confident pup is easily trainable for a calm, yet firm owner who will show strong leadership. Excellent training is not an option when it comes to the Rottweiler. It is best to properly introduce them when first meeting strangers because they are a very protective dog, loyal and dedicated to their owner. With consistent authority, this dog can be a loving addition to the right family. The Rottweiler was recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1931.
