What is the dog breed that exposed Jared Fogle from Subway?

How did a Dog help expose Jared Fogle?

What did a black lab do to help police find evidence against Fogle?

Jared Fogle, the spokesman of Subway was tried for owning and selling child pornography and traveling internationally to solicit human traffickers with underage children last August.
A black lab instead of human authorities at Fogle’s home found the source of the evidence. After the original search of Fogle’s home, a black lab named Bear was able to find a thumb drive that had been overlooked. Without this evidence Fogle would have never been tried.

Bear’s owner, Todd Jordan, rescued Bear and trained him to find electronics within four months. Bear has since been hired by Indiana police to investigate other Internet cases.

Black labs are wonderful at finding toys, treats, prey, and in this case evidence. Labrador retrievers were originally bred to fetch small prey such as foul, squirrels, and hares. Because of this they are extremely talented as sniffing out certain objects. Through positive reinforcement labs have been trained to find everything from prey to bombs in airports.

Bear and other labs are also more than happy to please their owner. Because Jordan gave Bear positive reinforcement throughout searches, Bear was always content with finishing tasks with Jordan. Labs and other breeds in general are always happy to help their owner.

This is why they are wonderful search dogs and are often used to help those with mental or physical disabilities. Because they are eager to please, intelligent, and talented in completing complex tasks they are perfect for helping humans find evidence or their car keys.

If you decide to adopt a lab they are always happy to spend time with you and are incredibly patient while you are training them. Labs are perfect for families big or small. They are content with you but may become anxious when you are away. The best thing to do is have a consistent schedule with your dog to relieve their anxiety when you are away. Labs also respond well to positive training through treats and toys. Give them a treat before you leave or offer a toy when you both come home from the park or – gulp – vet. They will appreciate the reliability and will react well to toys and treats.

Be sure to rescue your new friend from a reputable rescue or reliable breeder to ensure you know as much about your new friend as possible.
