How to Care for a Cavachon Puppy

Cavachon puppies are popular with pet lovers the world over. They are small, relatively easy to care for and very friendly. However, it is important to realize that these small pups do need consistent care, attention and grooming. Following are some tips on how you can properly care for this new addition to your family.

Right after buying the puppy, you will want to take it to a vet. A good vet will make sure the dog is clean and disease free, or will perscribe medications for the dog if health problems are detected. If you buy a female cavachon puppy, you may want to have it spayed at this time, unless you do not mind having more puppies down the line.

Cavachon pups need plenty of care, attention and affection. At the same time, they also need consistent training and discipline. If you are not sure how to train and/or housebreak a puppy, then you may want to sign it up for puppy kindergarten. You can also use the Cesar Milan puppy training course; it has plenty of helpful tips and step by step counsel on how to teach a puppy to obey.

Cavachons also need regular grooming. You will need to brush its fur often and schedule regular nail clippings and baths at a local animal grooming center. Be sure to clean its ears and brush its teeth on a regular basis as well. Because these dogs are naturally very energetic, you should make sure your new puppy gets plenty of exercise.

If you take good care of your new Cavachon pup, it can live for up to 15 years. Making sure the puppy is properly trained and groomed will ensure that it remains happy and healthy. Regular visits to the vet are also in order, as a vet can often catch and deal with small problems before they become serious issues. Above all, however, be sure to enjoy your new pup. Cavachons are lively, happy, affectionate little dogs that are sure to bring you plenty of joy over the years.
