German Shepherd

Breed Description: The German Shepherd is truly an incredible canine breed. It possesses great physical gifts, unshaken courage, and an incredible sense of loyalty. While not the oldest of breeds, only dating back to 1899, they are on of the more intelligent and trainable breeds around. The German Shepherd is also used in Military and Law Enforcement, bot at which they excel because of their physical and intellectual prowess.

Average Size: 21-26 inches tall and weight of between 50-90 lbs

Grooming: The German Shepherd requires daily brushing.

Activity Level: The German Shepherd is a very active breed. They should be walked or exercised daily because of their high energy level. Continued training is also very important with a German Shepherd, as they have an eagerness to serve a purpose and learn.

Temperament: German Shepherds are very protective of their family. While they are great in the sense of bonding with the family they know, they can be a bit leery about new people. Just take your time when bringing new people into your Shepherds life!
