Lancaster, PA – Beau’s Dream Dog Park at Buchanan Park

Beau’s Dream Dog Park welcomes small and large dogs to run around their water park, play a game of fetch (with their own tennis ball throwing tree!), or run through their agility park. Beau’s Park is separated into small and large parks but is not exclusive. While dogs do not need to be leashed in the park they will require their owner to be with them. The park is no cost and is open sunrise to sunset.

Annapolis, MD – Rails to Trails

There are over 1600 hiking trails that have been converted from unused rail lines that can be perfect for a day out in the woods with your furry friend. Be sure to bring plenty of doggie bags and water with a dish. While there will be bodies of water around the trails you will want to make sure they drink plenty of healthy water from your pack. Be sure to keep your pet on a leash as well. This will help keep you and them safe.

Cape May, NJ – Sunset Beach

This beach is a dog beach from September 15 to April 15. There is plenty of space to take a walk with your pooch or play a game of fetch. Your pet will need to stay on a leash and will have to always stay close to you. Luckily this will be easy at the nearby Sunset Beach Grill. This pet-friendly restaurant will make it easy to keep your dog in toe since their watching for scraps or dropped morsels.

Lewes, DE – Cape Henlopen

Cape Henlopen is perfect for a family with pets. There are countless hiking trails, which vary in difficulty, beautiful, natural beaches that are perfect for swimming, and there are even former military bases that can be educational and fun for everyone. Camping is available for families and is usually within a mile of the beach. There are shower rooms and plumbing available nearby the campsites. While camping make sure to keep your pet close to you. They may be scared of fire or strangers so be sure to keep them calm and safe.

Dogs are a part of the family and unlike whiny teenagers they will be excited to go wherever you want. So grab plenty of dog toys and a leash and get ready for some adventure!
