The American Eskimo has a double coat with a dense undercoat and a longer coat of hair that grows through it to form the outer coat. The coat colors are white or cream.

This breed is generally a very good companionship dog.  It is also intelligent but can be independent.

American Eskimos are fun-loving, affectionate and have a very high energy level.

They need brushed twice a week and even more when they are shedding.

They are highly trainable but can be rather mischievous.  These dogs are very intelligent and they love to please.

They are known for being extremely active dogs and must get daily exercise. 20-40 minute walks everyday day is suggested.
