Hybrid between Yorkshire terrier and Miniature Pinscher and inherited every sweet and affectionate trait from their purebred parents. These little love bugs are perfect for apartment living and small family homes with older children. They may be strong willed and a little opinionated but they are loyal. Depending on their genes Yorkie-pins need little grooming and are very healthy. If you are considering adoption here is a few things you may not know.
Fair Weather Friend
Yorkie-Pins are not great in cold weather. While they look great in a little sweater or parka they prefer to be comfortable in the warmer climates. These little guys will be fine in temperate climates as long as you invest in some cold weather booties and clothes but would not do well in regions that are primarily cold and snowy. They do best living in more tropic climates or areas that have longer summers. And they look adorable with little sunglasses. If you do live in warmer weather regions be sure to invest in some doggie friendly sunscreen for your pooch’s nose and feet. That way you both can enjoy riding with the top down and lying out on the beach all day.
Quiet
Unlike the stereotypical small yappy dog, Yorkie-pins can be quiet and calm and happy watching a movie with you or snuggling while you read a book. These little pups are slightly active but usually only need a long walk or a game a fetch throughout the day. If you decide to adopt be aware that they do not do well around younger children. Yorkie-pins are fragile and can easily break their legs if not held or handled properly. Because of this they are scared of children and strangers so they may begin to bark and snarl around new people.
King Of The Toys
Yorkie-pins earned the name King of the Toys because they are smart, quick, and tenacious little dogs. These little guys are compact but fearless even to the point of protecting their owners. If you adopt a yorkie-pin be aware that they know they have earned this title and are not afraid to act like it. They are very loving and sweet but will let you know when they need pampering or belly rubs. Be patient with them and understanding their needs will make you and them understand each other much better and be much happier together.
