Rottweilers have always been known as brave and loyal companions for families. They have been trained as fierce protectors for homes, businesses, and even in war times. History

A Rottweiler will question dominance if given the chance. Be sure to establish your role in the family while the dog is young so it does not become aggressive.

Rottweilers do best in families of three or more. This is because there will always be someone to be with and children will be more eager to play. Be sure to get the Rottweiler when it is a puppy if you introduce it to your family. This means the dog will grow with your family and learn the boundaries necessary to live in your home.

Health

The breed is generally healthy but can suffer from a few ailments. Like all dogs, they often fall victim to genetic illnesses and issues such as elbow dysplasia, heart defects, and eyesight issues. Before purchasing a puppy from a breeder be sure to research the breeder as well as the genetic background of the potential pet. You may be able to avoid potential disaster in the future.
