Siberian Husky
Breed Description: The Siberian Husky, Samoyed, and Alaskan Malamute are all descended from the original “sled dog”. The Husky is confirmed as one of the oldest known canine breeds. They are well known and seem to carry a mystique because of their close resemblance to the Wolf.

Average Size: 20-24 inches tall and weight of between 35-60 lbs

Grooming: The Siberian Husky needs brushed at least twice per week.
Activity Level:The Siberian Husky is a very active breed. They should be walked or exercised daily because of their high energy level.
Temperament:This is such a wonderful breed. They often howl instead of bark, they are a loyal, but independent breed. They can be somewhat strong headed, so an obedience class is a welcome idea.
Life Expectancy: 12-15 years
Balto the Hero:This breed is well known for its involvement in the 1925 Serum run to Nome, in which a team of 20 Mushers and 150 sled dogs transported medicine to thwart an epidemic. The Land they traveled across was some of the most treacherous in the world.
